We've been here for a few days already, other than the cold weather i cannot find something else to complain about. Every thursday afternoon and friday we will be arranged to visit some of the local attractions. Therefore, today we went to visit the Ascendas IT Park. We were brought around and had a brief idea of the IT Park.

Today is the first day of school and we've got the project brief for these 7 weeks in Dalian. Our task is to transform one of the study area in the library of Dalian Polytechnic University into a more vibrant space tat fulfil both study and social needs and also hold the transformative function for the exhibition area. Also, we have to include the consideration of being green initiative.

aRrghh...project life starts again. Hmm...by the time the project ends, we also have to fly back to Singapore already. Hope everything will go smoothly!

We don't have lesson today in the morning. Therefore, we went to one of the dumpling shop just right outside the main gate to have our breakfast. The spicy beancurd（麻辣豆腐）is so nice. : ) I guessed u can see it from the picture.







Then we went to attend our first lesson of GEMs. This module is about learning the Chinese culture and also let ourselves to have a better understanding of Dalian as well as China. Our teacher, Amant Sun told us that Dalian is a city of romance, fashion and football. Through the lesson we also started to know more about Dalian. I couldn't wait any longer to explore this city at that moment. How good it was if we weren't here for studies. haha XD

One day was gone again. Yet, it was a beautiful day and I knew tomorrow definitely will be somemore better! : )

The beginning of the story...19/04/2009-20/04/2009

After having two months attachment in Formwerkz Architect, finally the day that i've been looking forward to comes...19th April 2009 we're setting out to Dalian, China to begin our Immersion Programme. : ) HurraY!





It was a Sunday morning. We had to travel from Singapore to Beijing and again from Beijing to Dalian. By the time we reach Dalian International Airport, it was already 9 plus with a cold rainy weather. As what expected, the journey was really quite tiring. Yet, all the tiredness turned worthy by the time we reached our room. Wow, i couldn't believe it, is this a hotel or hostel? It made such a big difference although it was just an alphabet missing. XD







We woke up early for breakfast the next day morning. Hmmm...the food in the canteen not really suits my appetite. We had indeed a different culture from them in lots of area. I must get myself adapted to the new environment as soon as possible. : )




Then everyone of us was introduced a buddy from local to bring us around the school. My buddy was a 3rd year student from a course sort of like Graphic Design. Her name is Wang Miao(王苗）. It's nice to know such a friendly local friend here. : )



We then attended school opening ceremony that was held by Dalian Polytechnic University. This is the picture of the lecture theatre.



Wooo....the weather was so cold, rainy and windy for the whole day...hopefully it will be over soon : )
